About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my handsome and wonderful husband for over 14 years. Right now he's battling stomach/esophagus cancer. So I do my best to craft when I can. I have two wonderful boys. My oldest, Garett, is 24 and served 5 years in the Navy. He's been home since the beginning of the year (2014). We are very proud of him. My youngest, "DJ", is 13 and in the 8th grade. I have two Border Collie mix dogs (Koda and Rugu), one Calico cat (Hydie), one orange Tabby cat (Bosley), one Tea Cup Chihuahua (Gigi...I LOVE her sooo much), a Chiweinnie (Lily....sweetest dog ever), and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (Connor....AAALL boy).

A Mushy Thanks

HAPPY FRIDAY NIGHT

My husband and I decided to start taking on the task of redoing our shower tiles.  Not just because they were outdated, but because the showers needed it.  My husband's shower was first to be done.  All the prep work was done and now came time to hang waterproof sheet rock.  It's a good thing my best friend's husband builds houses for a living.  He came over and within two hours had the whole shower walls hung.  Now all we need to do now is plan up the tile and get it put on. Fun fun fun.  So here is a card I made Darren for helping us out.

Stamps used:  Unity Owl on a MushroomFebruary 2013 KOM (Sentiment and wood-grain background)

Unity {be inspired} Challenge

Funny thing, after finishing this card, I didn't really realize that the "be inspired" matched my sentiment.

I always loved the "white on white" technique, but thought it was too weddingish.  But when faced with two different challenges...I knew I could make it work for what I wanted to do.

My best friend's daughter is fighting the early stages of Lupus.  She's only 17.  But she is a strong angel and is determined to fight and get past the worse part of the disease...the beginning.  Her favorite color is purple....so she gets Lavender in her card.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Both Unity.  Flower Strip (August 2011 KOM), Sentiment (Naturally You).

Punches & Dies:  Sizzix (Leaf Branch, Flowers (Tim Holtz Tattered Roses), Scalloped Circle Framelits), Martha Stewart (Pine Branches), EKSuccess (Lattice Strip), Memory Box (Butterfly - Vivienne)

Misc:  Ribbon (Offray Organza/Satin), Ink (Lavender - Studio G, Black - Hampton Arts a la Mode), Stickles (Star Dust, Lavender), Shimmer Gel Pen (purple), Brad.

Thanks for looking :)

Cascading Love

This has to be one of my BEST cards I have EVER made.  It's called a Cascading Card.  I hope you like it.

Stamps used:  Of course...Unity!  The sentiment is from the Hearty Barley kit.  The dotted circle is actually from a grab bag set that I won, so I'm not sure where it came from...but it IS a Unity stamp.

Ink and Glue:  The red ink used for the dots is Blazing Red by StazOn.  The purple ink is from Studio G.  After I stamped the stentiment, I used a purple shimmer pen to write over the letters.  Then I used Candy Cane, Diamond, and Lavender Stickles over the dots and the word LOVE.

Punches and Die Cuts:  Martha Stewart deep punch Flower Doily border, deep punch Heart Lattice border(I cut the hearts out...but this punch comes in single), Pine Branch, Fiskars Flower punch, McGill Butterfly, EKSuccess Lattice, Sizzix Leaf Branches.

Embellishments:  Buttons, The Twinery Twine, Goldtone wire

Flower Power Love!!!

Happy Friday Evening ALL.  I can't believe how fast the week goes since I started doing these challenges.

With this card, I went a little different than I normally do.  I used two different stamps instead of just  one.  I kinda feel guilty too. LOL.  Anyway...here is another of my Valentine Day cards. Ok...as I was adding the stamps used, I realized that my butterfly,I had cut out using my Unity butterfly stamp, is missing...so as soon as I find it, I will take another picture and replace it.

Stamps used:  Unity Butterfly
Penny Black Frolic (Image colored with my colored pencils, of course) :)

Heart Border:  Memory Box (Cherish)
Heart Wreath:  Sizzix Embosslits (Flowers Colored with Prismacolor and blended using the baby oil technique...same with the 4 loose pink hearts).

Background embossed with Hello Kitty Spring set from Sizzix.

Sun In Your Face

Friends With Flair FRIDAY!!!

Wow...doing these FWF posts sure make the weeks go by fast, don't they?  Amazing!

Anyway...here is my card using another Phyllis Harris creation, of course. I just love coloring in her images.  I used some frayed burlap to create a bow for the sunflower bouquet she is holding.  I also added some sunflower ribbon from Offray and a silk sunflower/daisy.
